How safe do you feel?

BikeSpot 2020 data collection has now closed. Please scroll down to view links to all the results.

Welcome

Victoria is still striving to become a world-class cycling location. A lack of safety is the major barrier to people getting on their bikes. How it feels to ride a bicycle has an impact on people's willingness to ride.

BikeSpot 2020 provides the opportunity for all Victorians to share their perceptions of cycling safety and help develop new insights for the prioritisation of cycling safety improvements.

Results

After months of community engagement and data analysis, we’re pleased to share the BikeSpot 2020 results. We received over 31,000 submissions (spots, comments and 'likes') overall in the 2 month period between 31 March 2020 and 31 May 2020. This is an increase of 260% from of the BikeSpot project we conducted back in 2016.

It is clear from the results that the vast majority of participants (cyclists and drivers alike) want a physically separated and connected cycling network across Metro Melbourne and Victoria.

BikeSpot 2020 is a collaboration between CrowdSpot and the Amy Gillett Foundation.
